Business Development Manager


My client, a leader in Unified Communications, is looking to recruit a Business Development Manager, specialising in Network Services, to be based in their Watford office.

 This Business Development role is focused on Network Services (Including lines, minuets, connectivity & hosted voice solutions).

Core Responsibilities

Develop in conjunction with sales and marketing management a business plan/sales strategy for the market that ensures attainment of company sales goals. (Including financial performance targets - revenue/GP/conversion)

Responsible for personal sales quota and an overarching sales quota (in line with existing customer base and new business).

Develop powerful trading relationships with designated vendors at operating management level, to influence vendor sales lead generation and all commercial partnership/sales initiatives.

Hold regular business reviews with the appropriate personnel to build more effective communications, to understand training and development needs, and to provide insight for the improvement of sales performance.

Support sales team in lead generation activities and managing large new business opportunities

Initiate and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new markets

Assist in the development and implementation of marketing plans as needed

Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding performance, preparing weekly reports and responsible for maintaining accurate records in CRM

Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.

Assists team in preparation of proposals, presentations and RFP responses.

Controls expenses to meet budget guidelines.

Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

Experience and Qualifications:

A proven track record in a sales role.

A successful sales track record in selling in telecommunications/technology arena.

Consultative/solution sell approach.

Good understanding of MPLS, Lease Line, xDSL Technology, Fixed Line - ISDN2/ISDN30, PSTN, Cloud - SIP/Hosted, Inbound - 0***/Non Geo, CPS/Minutes, Mobiles, M2M, Disaster Recovery.

Accomplished in the whole sales life cycle, from identifying and sourcing customers, to winning business, servicing and account management and development.

Microsoft skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, with CRM experience (preferably MS Dynamics)

Degree qualified, or equivalent experience.

Regular travel (approx 50% of time) to customer locations throughout the UK will be required.
